RanDee Anshutz, RDN, LD, LMT
Welcome! I’m so glad that you’re here. My name is RanDee Anshutz; I’m a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Certified Body Trust® Specialist. I am the founder of Synergy, where we specialize in promoting Health at Every Size® (HAES) and resuming body trust.
Philosophy
My work started largely steeped in the traditional weight loss paradigm, because that’s what I was taught in academia, but after time applying the ideas to “human subjects” I recognized a few things:
Education & Background:
I graduated with my BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Oregon State University (Go Beavs!) in 2009. I completed internship through University of Delaware with local rotations in Bend, OR. Those internship rotations opened doors for me that have led to work experience in public health, hospital, clinical and private practice nutrition.
Prior to becoming an RDN, I studied Massage Therapy at East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon. While studying there I also worked under Physical Therapists learning about treatment for injury rehabilitation. 2024 marks my 25th year as a massage therapist!
Treatment Style:
As a provider of massage and nutrition therapies I listen to your unique body story—I’ll echo what I’m hearing back to you so that we may recognize the wisdom that is within you and all that we can learn from the experience of living in your body. It is my hope that with time, you may begin to show up for yourself with this same curiosity, compassion, and empathy.
After working in healthcare for over 28 years I have learned that nothing is more powerful than connection. When we connect we learn, understand, and grow. I want that for you—all of you. I am creating a space where you are free to connect—with me, my team of providers, and with each other. Whatever feels right for you, and whatever pace is right for you—we’ve got your back.
I have most enjoyed facilitating groups and working with clients individually to empower, educate, and support a paradigm shift in how we care for our bodies. I’ve seen that we can improve metabolic health (blood sugar, insulin levels, cholesterol, inflammation, etc.) without stepping on a scale, and that focusing on measures other than weight is not only more effective but also more sustainable.
In recent years, our team has been certified to assist clients with starting insulin-pump therapy. We are excited to add this to our accredited diabetes program offerings, as we continue to try to provide the most innovative diabetes care.
Massage can be such an incredible tool for coming home to our body, turning inward and tuning out the external noise, healing from pain, and saying thank you.

Philosophy
My work started largely steeped in the traditional weight loss paradigm, because that’s what I was taught in academia, but after time applying the ideas to “human subjects” I recognized a few things:
- Dieting or restricting, in any form, does not work. The pursuit of weight loss or controlling the size of our body causes more harm than good.
- Instead, a self care practice that is rooted in compassion and intuition can lead to improvements in metabolic health, regardless of one’s body size.
- Because I am a health care provider, this pursuit of health is much more congruent with my ethics.
